WWrite it Right Appraisal

Frequently asked questions

The basics on how Write it Right Appraisal works and what to expect.

Is Write it Right Appraisal legal or insurance advice?+

No. Write it Right Appraisal provides educational guidance to help you understand your damage and options. It is not legal advice or an official repair estimate, and we are not affiliated with any insurer. For decisions about your claim, we recommend a licensed professional.

What does it cost?+

Getting your accident report is free. Optional expert reviews range from $49 (Estimate Review) to $199 (Post-Repair Inspection). You only pay if you choose to add a consultation.

Do I have to use my insurance company's repair shop?+

Generally, no - you usually have the right to choose your own shop. An insurer's preferred shop can be convenient, but you aren't required to use it. Pick a shop you trust that's certified for your vehicle.

Can you check repair quotes I've already received?+

Yes. Upload the estimates or quotes you've gotten from a shop or insurer and our experts will review them for red flags and commonly-missed operations before you accept a bid.

What is diminished value?+

It's the loss in your vehicle's resale value after it's been in an accident and repaired - even a perfect repair. Whether you can recover it depends on your state, fault, and policy. Our Diminished Value Consultation can walk through your specific situation.

Is my information private?+

Yes. We don't sell your personal information. Your photos and details are used only to help with your claim, and you can request deletion at any time.

What if my car isn't drivable?+

Note that in your intake and add photos of the damage. Not being drivable can affect total-loss risk and towing/rental considerations - things our experts can help you think through.
